Professor Cao Jinde of Southeast University was elected as a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences

[Southeast University News Network, July 27] (Correspondent: Shu Xuan) Recently, Dean O.L.Kuznetsov of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN) sent a congratulatory letter to Prof. Cao Jinde from the School of Mathematics of SEU, congratulating him on his election as a foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and affirmed his important contributions in terms of mathematical model for complex dynamic network systems, dynamic analysis and control theory as well as its engineering applications. At the same time, Prof. Cao Jinde won the RAEN Development Contribution Award.



Prof. Cao Jinde is currently serving as Chief Professor of Southeast University, Dean of the School of Mathematics, Member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Mathematics in Institution of Higher Learning of Ministry of Education, Chairman of Mathematics Union of Jiangsu Universities, Director of Key Laboratory of Web Swarm Intelligence of Jiangsu Province, and Principal of the technology innovation team of “Blue Project of Jiangsu Universities”. He has been engaged in the research of neural dynamics and optimization, web swarm intelligence, complex network and complex system research for a long time. He has presided over 8 National Natural Science Foundation projects (including 1 key project) and 3 Doctoral Scientific Fund Project of the Ministry of Education of China in succession. The project results have been included in the 2009 annual report of National Natural Science Foundation of China as national natural sciences project achievements. Prof. Cao Jinde was elected as an academician of the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences in 2019, an academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2018, an academician of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences in 2017, an academician of the European Academy of Sciences in 2016, an IEEE Fellow in 2015, and won the first National Innovation Competition Award, the International Obada Award, the First Prize of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province, the Outstanding Contribution Award of Phase III “333 Project” of Jiangsu Province, Top Ten Postgraduate Tutors of Jiangsu Province, Advanced Individual for Excellence of Jiangsu Province Colleges and Universities, and the special government allowance of the State Council.

It is reported that the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RAEN) is Russia’s largest academy for social sciences. It was founded in 1990 by scientists and well-known scholars engaged in basic scientific research, was then officially recognized by the United Nations in January 1995, and granted the status of a non-governmental organization with the UN in July 2002. Currently, the Academy has 24 faculties with over 4,000 academicians, including 18 Nobel Prize winners, more than 270 academicians of the Russian Academy for Sciences, and more than 30 academicians of the Russian National Academy for Medical Sciences. In addition, scientists and scholars in the field of humanities and social sciences from 48 countries around the world who have made remarkable achievements have been elected as foreign academicians of the Academy.
