[Southeast University News Network, April 3] (Correspondents: Chen Gui, Zhang Kexin) On March 30, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council issued the “Notice of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council on Issuing the List of Academic Degree Authorization Points Revoked and Added by the Independent Authorization Examination Institute for Degree Authorization in 2019” (X. W. [2020] No. 4), the “Foreign Languages and Literatures” of Southeast University was approved as the first-level discipline authorized to grant the doctoral degree and “Chinese History” was approved as the first-level discipline authorized to grant the master’s degree.
It is the first time for Southeast University to carry out independent review of academic degree authorization institutes since it has been approved as an independent review institute. Up to now, our school features a total of 34 first-level disciplines authorized to grant doctoral degrees and 48 first-level disciplines authorized to grant master’s degrees, which are classified into 6 categories of doctoral degree authorization and 29 categories of master’s degree authorization covering philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management, art and history, etc..
