Academician Wei Wei has long been engaged in microwave electronics researches. She has been involved in theoretical and applied researches on bioelectronics and molecular electronics since 1982, and has obtained the first batch of sectional images of microwave CT, ultrasound CT, diffraction CT and B/A nonlinear parameters of biological tissues in China. She established the first laboratory for molecular and bioelectronics in China and created the first bioelectronics doctoral program in China. Internationally, she took the initiative in illuminating the basic features of molecular devices and molecular computing system in a systematical manner, and took the lead of adopting the molecular design of molecular devices, which was highly concerned by experts both at home and abroad.
Wei Yu, as one of the first twelve executive directors of the International Society for Molecular Electronics and Biocomputing System, a standing member or a member of the Editorial Board of such international academic journals as “Biosystem” and “Molecular Engineering” etc., has published nearly 300 academic papers on authoritative academic journals both at home and abroad, and has in succession cultivated dozens of graduates, doctoral and postdoctoral fellows. Meanwhile, more than a dozen of national-level major and key scientific research assignments of which she took charge have been accomplished.
