SEU Held Social Science Salon on International Education in China and the Dissemination of Chinese Culture

Social Science Salon on International Education in China and the Dissemination of Chinese Culture jointly sponsored by Office of Social Sciences in SEU and College of International Education in SEU was held in Southeast University on the afternoon of June, 18th. Lin Yue(Director of International Affairs in Education Department of Jiangsu), Prof. Zhou Youyong(Director of Office of Social Sciences in SEU) and Prof. Qiu Bin(Dean of College of International Education in SEU) attended the opening ceremony and made speeches. Prof. Gu Mingdong(Director of Confucius Institute in University of Tennessee-Knoxville) and Prof. Xiao Shilun(Director of Confucius Institute in University of Texas-Dallas) were specially invited to the salon. Prof. Xu Keqian(Former Director of Confucius Institute in Nanjing Normal Universithy&University of North Carolina), Prof. Jacob Kurien from The Johns Hopkins University—Nanjing University Center, Prof. Chen Meihua(Dean of School of Foreign Languages in SEU) and many other teachers participated in the activity.

The salon was composed of two items, traditional Chinese arts performance played by International students and keynote speeches. The opening ceremony started with Ancient Chinese Piano(Gu Qin) and Taiji performance, then International students performed wonderful entertainment programs. Circling the theme of the salon—Globalization of the Educational Scope for International Students in China, Confucius Institute and the Dissemination of Chinese Culture and The Dissemination of Chinese Culture under “One Belt And One Road”— scholars participating in the conference expressed their opinions from different angles.
