On December 17, IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS Society) branch meeting hosted by Southeast University was convened in Nanjing. The delegation under the leadership of Professor Yoshifumi Nishio from Tokushima University and Vice President of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society concurrently, Professor Hiroo Sekiya from Chiba University attended the meeting. Professor You Xiaohu, Chairman of IEEE Nanjing Branch, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Mobile Communications of Southeast University and IEEE Fellow, delivered the welcome speech and introduced the basic conditions of IEEE Nanjing Branch. Deputy Dean Huang Yongming and Wang Rong of the School of Information Science and Engineering, Sun Wei, Deputy Secretary of the School’s Party Committee and Deputy Dean, and Associate Professor Liu Xiaofan, Head of the Department of the School of Computer Science and Engineering also attended the meeting. Associate Professor Zhang Chuan presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, Professor Nishio introduced the development of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society in recent years and encouraged teachers and students to submit papers actively. At the same time, he also introduced the student design competition organized by the Circuits and Systems Society, introduced the participation at four major division globally, and then highly praised the team of Southeast University. Professor Sekiya then introduced the CAS branch under his leadership and encouraged Chinese scholars to actively participate in the activities organized by CAS Society to master the voice in the frontier domains. Later, professors and classmates present conducted in-depth and meticulous exchanges on their focused circuit and system research by means of wall and oral reports. The delegation of Professor Nishio further visited Chien-shiung Wu College.
This academic meeting features high academic level and wide application of technology. It is an important measure for Southeast University to actively participate in world-class academic activities and enhance its influences in internationally renowned academic organizations. The meeting has promoted the exchanges in the field of circuits and systems, and thus enhanced academic research and cooperation both at home and abroad.
It is reported that the Circuits and Systems Society, in IEEE organization structure, is one of the most important associations among nearly forty technical associations of IEEE Technical Activities Committee. IEEE Nanjing Branch, located at the 10th District (Asia Pacific Region), was established on February 14, 2007 and had jurisdiction over Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang Provinces.
