The 3rd 100-Person Coming-of-Age Ceremony by Bicycling for Public Welfare Came to the End Successfully at Southeast University

On the morning of October 14, the 3rd“100-Person Coming-of-Age Ceremony by Bicycling for Public Welfare” was curtained at East Square of the Gymnasium at Jiulonghu Campus of Southeast University. This activity themed “Bloom Youth, Fly Dreams and Empower the Road of Adult” was jointly hosted by Jiangsu Sports Foundation and Southeast University Education Foundation. Leaders including Wang Zhiguang, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Sports Bureau, Zhou Lingmei, Deputy Secretary-General of Jiangsu Sports Foundation and the world bicycling champion, Zhu Xiongyu, President of Jiangsu Giant Cycling Life-style Foundation, Huang Dawei, Vice President of Southeast University and Vice President of Southeast University Education Foundation, and 100 students from higher education institutions in Jiangsu Province including Southeast University attended this activity. 

In the speech delivered by Vice President Huang Dawei, during this bicycling coming-to-age ceremony, he expected the students could challenge their perseverance in the long-distance cycling and grow, physically and psychologically; understand responsibilities and obligations that should be undertaken by the individuals, know how to give dedications and gain friendship among students in the group activity. President Zhu Xiongyu expected the students would confront the challenges, just like cycling, always moving forward and never stopping moving forward to their dreams. 

Student Wu Yongkui, a freshman from the School of Civil Engineering led all the team members to make the oath. Upon the gunshot delivered by Deputy Director Wang Zhiguang, all the members launched their journey, then accomplished their journey of 53km after cycling for four hours and returned to Jiulonghu Campus safely. The activity has achieved complete success.
