Recently, the delegation of Vice President Jin Baosheng from Southeast University visited higher education institutions including Telecom ParisTech, Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) and Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics (ESTP) for exchanges and cooperation. Representatives from Southeast University Wuxi Campus, the School of Information, the School of Electronics and the International Cooperation Office, etc. accompanied the delegation on such visit abroad.
During the visit of Telecom ParisTech, President Prof. Yves POILANE, Prof. Jean Francois, Director of Foreign Affairs Office, Prof. Bruno Thedrez, Dean of the School of Communication Electronics, principals in charge of image signal and other disciplines, etc. met with the delegation. In talks, President Yves POILANE introduced the new campus of Telecom ParisTech under construction to the delegation in detail. Meanwhile, representatives in charge of different disciplines also introduced their researches and research achievements in their respective field. Vice President Jin Baosheng pointed out that Telecom ParisTech and Southeast Universities shared many in common regarding advantageous disciplines and both parties have been maintaining long-term and stable cooperation. In the previous cooperation, the talent exchanges and cooperation in scientific researches have played a significant role in the development of both schools; therefore, the conclusion of this agreement on scientific research cooperation would be bound to lay down solid foundation for the further exchanges and cooperation between both parties. After the talks, both parties signed the school-level agreement on academiccooperation. As one of the excellent engineer schools subordinate to France Paris High-tech Alliance and L’institut Mines-Télécom, Telecom ParisTech is ranked at top 6 among over 160 engineer schools in France.
On the next day, the delegation of Vice President Jin Baosheng visited L’institut Mines-Télécom including 11 out of top 30 excellent engineer institutions in France. Vice President Prof. Frederique Vincent and Prof. Michel Pavageau, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office and representatives of the subordinate member schools met with the delegation of Vice President Jin Baosheng. Both parties negotiated and planned the specific and subsequent matters about constructingan international union college in the future and then concluded the memorandum. They planned to establish the official school-level cooperation within the year to further advance the overall cooperation in terms of education, scientific research, academic activity and talent exchange, etc.
Then the delegation of Vice President Jin Baosheng visited L’école Spéciale des Travaux Publics, an engineer school highlighting long history in France. During visit, both parties reviewed the long-term and stable talent exchanges and cooperation, and expected to achieve new progress in students’ exchange in the future cooperation. After talks, both parties renewed the framework cooperation agreement between the two schools.
This visit intended to enhance the overall and deep cooperation between Southeast University and top-ranking international colleges, and thus boost the international development of Wuxi Campus.
