Professor Patrick Reynaert from the University of Leuven in Belgium Was Appointed as Visiting Professor of Southeast University

On the morning of July 13, an appointment ceremony was convened by Southeast University at the Wireless Valley to appoint Professor Patrick Reynaert from Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski (KUL) in Belgium as a visiting professor. Professor Huang Yongming, Associate Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering of Southeast University, presented the Letter of Appointment to Professor Patrick Reynaert on behalf of the school and wore the school badge for Patrick.

Professor You Xiaohu, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Mobile Communication of Southeast University, Professor Huang Yongming, Associate Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering of Southeast University, and representatives of teachers and students of the School of Information Science and Engineering of Southeast University also attended the ceremony. In his speech, Associate Dean Huang Yongming firstly introduced Professor Patrick Reynaert's main experiences and achievements, highly appraised the scientific research achievements made by Professor Patrick Reynaert and expected Professor Patrick Reynaert to provide previous scientific research experience and innovative academic thoughts to the discipline construction of information science and engineering, RF microelectronics integrated circuits, etc.. Professor Patrick Reynaert’s main research directions include high-frequency, wideband, high-performance CMOS and SOI circuit power amplifiers, millimetre wave and terahertz integrated circuits as well as flexible fibre-based data communication circuits. Professor Patrick Reynaert has been serving as a professor of the Microelectronics and Sensors Research Team of Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski (KUL) since 2007, a TPC member, deputy editor and guest editor for several important conferences and journals in respect of integrated circuits: ISSCC, RFIC, ESSCIRC, TCAS-II and JSSC, etc. Besides, he is also working as Chairman of the Mixed Signal and RF Working Team of Global Semiconductor Alliance. His papers once won ESSCIRC Best Paper Award, TSMC European Practice Innovation Award and 2014 Bell Lab Award, etc.. Professor Patrick Reynaert said that he felt rather honoured to be appointed as a visiting professor of Southeast University and would continue to promote academic exchanges and cooperation between Southeast University and Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski (KUL) in Belgium so as to jointly cultivate high-level talents and carry out research work.

After the appointment ceremony, Professor Patrick Reynaert delivered a wonderful academic report entitled millimetre wave and terahertz integrated circuits to the teachers and students present in the ceremony. Afterwards he lively interacted with teachers and students, and then visited the State Key Laboratory of Mobile Communication of Southeast University in the company of these enthusiastic teachers and students.
