Two Graduates of SEU State Key Laboratory of Mobile Communication Won IEEE Prizes

Recently, two graduates from School of Information Science and Engineering of Southeast University, Liang Xiao and Ge Lulu, were selected as the winners of 2017 IEEE CAS Student Travel Grant and IEEE ComSoc Women in Communications Engineering (WICE) Travel Grant respectively.

Liang Xiao’s paper published in IEEE APCCAS 2016, “Hardware-Efficient Folded SC Polar Decoder Based om K-Segment Decomposition”, made her stand out from competitors around the word and won the prize. The IEEE CAS Student Travel Grant is sponsored by IEEE Circuits and System Society, and it focuses on the selection of outstanding papers of students in academic conferences of CAS in recent two years. Liang Xiao was instructed by Prof. You Xiaohu and Prof. Zhang Chuan. She has published 9 papers for academic conferences(including 5 first-author papers), applied for 8 patents, and won the Best Student Paper Award Prize of IEEE ASICON 2015. This is her forth time to win the honor like this in international academic conference.

Ge Lulu won the IEEE ComSoc Women in Communications Engineering (WICE) Travel Grant with her paper published in ICC 2017 “A DNA Strand Displacement Reaction Implementation-Friendly Clock Design”. IEEE ComSoc Women in Communications Engineering (WICE) is a standing committee of ComSoc. It aims at improving the visibility of female researchers and provide a platform for their professional development. WICE offers help to outstanding female researchers in the form of academic conference Travel Grant. Ge Lulu has published 4 academic conference papers(including one first-author paper), one first-author paper on IEEE Transactions magazine. She was instructed by Prof. Zhang Chuan.
