In oreder to celebrate the 115th anniversary of Southeast University, the History Museum was formally opened at the original practice field in Sipailou campus on June 3. The opening ceremony was presided over by professor Zhou Youyong, vice president of SEU. Professor Yi Hong, Secretary of the Party committee of Southeast University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. The delegation of relatives of National Southeast University President Guo Bingwen led by Ms. Xu Zhiyun and Mr. Sun Lianghong, the delegation of relatives of national Centre College President Zhang Naiyan led by Mr. Zhang Wenjia, the delegation of relatives of Wang Youting, the westward animal army leader” during the War of Resistance Against Japan led by Mr. Wangde, and the representatives of alumni, teachers and students.
Party secretary Yi delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He recalled the long history of the specific site: practice factory, and pointed out the significance of built the History Museum.It’s an important measure to build all the Southeasters identity and self-confidence of cultural, an implementation of moral education, a fundamental task of cultivating person with culture and an important measure to improve the East cultural soft power. He also pointed out that built the History Museum is a long process, we need to constantly enrich the content, especially the materials and entities.He hopes the History Museum could keep making persistent efforts, improve the service function, preserve the scenery well, and show cultural heritage and scientific achievement. At the same time, he also hope the teachers and students, alumni and friends can work together, give the advice and suggestions.
The History Museum design representative, Ma Xiaodong from architectural design and research institute of southeast university introduced the design principle and the characteristics of school History Museum, the design divided in two stages: firstly repair and reinforcement done by the design team; Secondly display design done by the consultant team inculding building institute,art and design institute, designing institute of experts and Shanghai Hai Shi building and decoration design engineering co., LTD, they work together to accomplish. The west of the practice field is a national priority protection unit, so the minimum intervention, identification and reversible design is adopted,successfully make the difference between the old and the new. The design of the school history is distinctive, the old building is both the pavilion and the largest exhibits, which complement the exhibition.
On the eve of anniversary, the first president of National Centre College Zhang Naiyan’s descendant Mr. Zhang Wenjia donated a batch of precious objects of President Zhang Naiyan to our school, Mr. Zhang Wenjia said, National Centre College was the first institution in the Republic of China, as the descendant of the first president of National Centre College , I sincerely hope and believe that Southeast University will have a greater development and to become the first class of the world.
Student representative, volunteer Jiang Zhijie said, through the interpretation of history , not only give the visitors a better understanding of our history, also let the volunteers have a better understanding of the spirit of Southeast University and benefited from historical mission.
