About the Speaker:
Mrs. Fan Xiaoqing is the president and secretary of the Party committee of Jiangsu Writers’ Association. She was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu province. In 1978 she began her study at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Suzhou University, and taught about theory of literature and art in the university after graduation. In 1985 she worked at Jiangsu Writers’ Association and started full-time writing. She is also a member of Chinese writers’ Association Committee, a member of the 9th Jiangsu People's Political Consultative Conference, vice director of the Education and Culture Commission, a representative of the 10th National Congress of the Communist Party in Jiangsu, a member of the 9th Chinese Writers’ Association Commission. She has written numbers of novels and prose, and published many anthologies.

Mrs. Fan Xiaoqing is a leading figure in literary circles of JIangsu province. She has been working on writing and the teaching of literature theory for a long time and made a strong influence.
