SEU Won Three Prizes at the National Science and Technology Awards for 2016

Southeast University has won three prizes at the National Science and Technology Awards held in Beijing on January 9th, 2017. Also, there were three collaboration projects winning science and technology prizes, among which the project Key Technologies and Application of the Fourth Generation Mobile Communication System(TD-LTE) has won the Grand Prize for technological advancement.

  




The three prizes SEU has won this time are respectively natural science, technological invention and technological advancement. Structure and Devices of Microwave and Millimeter-wave New-type Substrate Integrated Guided Wave, led by SEU School of Information Science and Engineering Dean, distinguished professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program and director of State Key Laboratory for microwave Professor Hong Wei, has won the second prize for natural science; Key Technologies and Application of Permanent Magnet Brushless Motor with Strong Fault Tolerance and Wide-range Speed Control, led by IEEE Fellow and SEU School of Electrical Engineering Professor Cheng Ming, has won the second prize for technological invention; Research and Application of MCI-based Multimodal Molecular Image and Its Function Effect, led by SEU Zhongda Hospital President Professor Teng Gaojun, has won the second prize for technological advancement.


  


Among the winning collaboration projects, Key Technologies and Application of the Fourth Generation Mobile Communication System(TD-LTE) has won the Grand Prize for technological advancement with SEU Associate Research Fellow Wang Mingdong as a team member; The Pathogenesis and Clinical Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease has won the second prize for technological advancement with SEU Zhongda Hospital Vice President Professor Liu Bicheng as a major team member; Theories and Methods to the Synchronization, Control and Recognition of a Complex Dynamic System has won the second prize for natural science with SEU School of Mathematics Professor Yu Wenwu as a major team member.

  

Since 2012, SEU has won 14 prizes as major complete unit (general project), including 1 first prize and 6 second prizes for technological advancement, 3 second prizes for natural science and 4 second prizes for technological invention. The number of prizes has ranked first among the universities of Jiangsu Province, and ranked seven among the universities nationwide.
