The design scheme headed by Prof. Zhou Qi from School of Architecture of SEU ranked the first and finally won the bid in People’s Daily New Building Design Project Competition. It was the first time in the past 50 years that School of Architecture of SEU won national institute design project in Beijing.
People’s Daily New Building, echoing with CCTV New Building, was located in Central Business District (CBD), at North Section of the East3 rd Ring Road, Beijing. People’s Daily New Building project had become the center of attention since its was launched. A Dozen of design institutes in China participated in the bid for People’s Daily New Building Design Project in the open biding competition, with China Architecture Design Institute, Beijing Institute of Architectural Design & Research, Central South Architectural Design Institute, China Metallurgical Architecture Design Institute and Architectural Design & Research Institute of SEU selected for the final.In the end, Architectural Design & Research Institute of SEU won the bid.
