Nobel Laureate Tannoudji Visited SEU

On April 15, Prof. Claude Cohen Tannoudji, a Nobel Prize winner for physics in 1997, and Adriane Brown, president & CEO of Honeywell Transportation Systems visited SEU. President Yi Hong, together with vice-president Pu Yuepu, met with the guests and then hosted the Conferment Ceremony for Prof. Tannoudji as a SEU’s Honorary Professor.
Later, Prof. Tannoudji gave a lecture titled “light and matter” at the lecture hall, which brought great exhilaration to the audience present. In the afternoon, Professor Tannoudji arrived in Physics Department, visiting its laboratories and holdling a discussion with the students. After the meeting, the students expressed their excitement, saying they had never dreamed of being able to chat with a laureate face to face and the experience is a great stimulus for their interest in studying physics.
